PapaJohns for Lunch

PapaJohns.com Bowl Preview
I debated on whether or not to even acknowledge this as a real actual bowl game. But Papa Johns put a lot of food on my paper plates during college so I feel I owe them some respect. As for the participants ... I can't figure why they're in a bowl game or why anyone would watch, but I'm going to do my best to sell you on watching.

Where: Birmingham, AL
Who: Big East vs Conference USA
Formerly known as: Birmingham Bowl
Years in Existence: 1
Players Gift Bag: Digital Camera, Backpack, and the all important subscription to ESPN Magazine they already have.

Why you should watch? (With all due respect to both teams)

1. Lou Holtz son coaches East Carolina - Which means at any point during the game the Panthers might commit an NCAA violation.
2. South Florida QB Matt Grothe - He'll become a household name ... I'm serious. Only a freshman, Grothe (pictured) is also the Bulls leading rusher and has all the arm you'd ever need. Honestly, this may be the only reason to watch so then you can tell your friends who the best sleeper QB in the country is next fall.
3. You need something to do before Ohio State vs Florida Basketball game

Picks
Experts - 95% South Florida
Fans - 93% South Florida

If by chance you are watching the game and want to chat it up ... here is the place. Believe me, Matt Grothe is going to make some plays worth talking about. (btw, I am going to ignore the New Mexico Bowl as that truly is not worth watching or discussing)

I like Papa Johns

Also... This game could go either way. May be better than most people think.

I'm faily certain the PapaJohns in Oxford, OH was one of the most profitable in the country due to my freshman corridor.

Looks like the game went as planned.

Actually East Carolina was over-matched. South Florida, remember, is IN Florida. That means they have infinitely better talent to choose from than does the school in Greenville, North Carolina. As a matter of fact, eight of East Carolina's 22 starters (4 on offense, 4 on defense) are FROM Florida. The University of South Florida will have at least 3 players go in the NFL Draft next April. They are now 4-0 all-time vs. East Carolina. I wish that the Bulls could have played someone that would have tested them.
