I saw a piece on Alou saying he wouldn't have even caught the ball. This leaves one of two possibilities.

 

1. He is lying in order to help Bartman out. Would be a nice gesture, but way too nice for Moises Alou. Or...

 

2. He is telling the truth and he wouldn't have caught the ball. If this is the case, what he did in that game is even more inexcusable. I will leave out the humanity aspects and the fact that he ruined a guy's life for absolutely nothing and I'll focus on the game. His little temper tantrum just sucked the air out of the ballpark. Now, I wasn't there, but as soon as I saw that, I knew the Cubs were in trouble. I'm not even a Cub fan and I could feel my tension rise after his little hissy fit. The Cubs just fell apart after that and I put that squarely on Moises Alou. . If he had just jogged back to his position and slapped his mit a time or two to show we'll get it this time, it could have been a whole new story.
