Maria Sharapova, Andy Roddick Knocked Out Of Wimbledon Early

I Blame It On Maria's Horrible Outfit; No Excuses For Overrated Roddick
by CriticalFanatic
6/26/08

Wimbledon has vowed to halt it's shooting of pigeons, but in exchange they've shot down some tops seeds. Maria Sharapova has left us at least a week too early at Wimbledon, after getting beaten badly by Alla Kudryavtseva 6-1, 6-4. It wasn't her serve or unforced errors to blame for her loss, but clearly her outfit.

What do you call that? Half-Navratilova, half-tuxedo isn't good for anyone involved. Stick to what you do best, Maria, and that's rock a short tennis dress.

The other big loss on Thursday shouldn't really surprise anyone. Andy Roddick has departed another grand slam tournament prematurely, a disturbing trend that shows his commitment to being a great player in waning. It also shows that coupling with Brooklyn Decker can have adverse effects on your success with any endeavor outside of your house.

Other news of note: Rafael Nadal lost a set.

Blake also lost (no shock as no one is better at shrinking in a Slam), and Davenport had to withdraw due to injury. That sound you hear is ESPN and NBC execs jumping out of windows.

Roddick made it further than I thought he would.  Out of the first round.

Blake is still on the down low, he's never really blossomed.  Davenport is terrible and I thought she retired, I was surprised to see her in this one.  Nadal and Federer and to a lesser extent Djokovic are the reasons to watch.  Anybody that watches tennis watches because of them.  Also, apparently, that adult in a 15 year-old body Ivanovic - closeted perverts are rejoicing over her.
