Marvin Harrison Prime Suspect In Philadelphia Bar Shooting

Marvin Harrison Does His Best Cincinnati Bengals Impersonation, And Why We Shouldn't Be That Shocked

Marvin Harrison Prime Suspect In Philadelphia Bar Shooting Photo This is one of those stories that really seems to come out of left field. And it also conveniently happened to be broken on a late Friday afternoon - which means coverage will be sparser than normal.

Anyway, Marvin Harrison is the prime suspect in a shooting that took place on Tuesday in his hometown of Philadelphia.

A source close to the investigation told Anthony Gargano of Philadelphia's WIP Radio that the shooting reportedly occurred early Tuesday afternoon outside a Harrison's bar Playmakers.

Just so everyone knows, Harrison has yet to be arrested or charged with the crime. Here are the details.
The source said the alleged victim came into the bar, Playmakers, around 5 p.m. and engaged in an argument with Harrison, who was at the bar. The victim then left the bar, heading to his car, with Harrison following. Gunfire broke out, the victim was hit in the hand, and a young girl was slightly injured by flying glass from a car that apparently was hit by a bullet.

Police came to scene, but the victim did not identify a shooter. On Wednesday, according to the source, ballistic tests showed that the gun that had fired the shots was a custom-made Belgian weapon, and police determined that Harrison owned such a gun. Police then went to a Philadelphia car wash owned by Harrison to question him about the gun.

Harrison admitted owning such a weapon, but claimed it never left his suburban Philadelphia home. However, the source said the gun was discovered in a bucket at the car wash, and tests showed that it had fired seven bullets that matched those found at the scene.

Apparently there's also already one witness who's prepared to identify Harrison as the shooter.

I'm not going to say Harrison's guilty - since he's not a Bengals player - but I'm surprised people are overly shocked about this should it be true. Sure Harrison is a a relatively quiet guy, and does everything he can to avoid contact on the field, and he SEEMS like a pretty decent guy. But let's be honest, we have no clue if our perception of him is true or not.

Unless we know an athlete personally, we'll never know what goes on inside his head. We constantly put athletes up on pedestals that they really don't belong on. Everyone loved Kirby Puckett when he was in Minnesota, but as we found out later, he was a notorious wife beater.

The longer that you're a sports fan, the less something like this should surprise you. We don't know these guys at all. We just form a perception of them in our mind that is often very far from the truth.

Marvin Harrison was always a little overrated because he was the "good guy out of the bunch", so this changes that a lot.

As for things that actually matter, like the man who was killed, God bless his family as they deal with this.

I think we need more info on the shooting before I would say he did a bad thing.  He could have been fired at first and defending himself.  I would shoot back if someone shot at me!  Maybe the guy stole something from the bar, etc.   Is there anymore info on this?

Shooting Philly you gotta be kidding me   I am really suprised to hear that   JK Kinda hard to deny that he was the shooter if the gun in question was found in his home.  Maybe he will try to blame T.O.  you know sour grapes with the Eagles.  LMAO

Since a young girl was injured by the glass, and as an innocent bystander, this only proves his immaturity level.
