NFL Draft Day 2 Live Thread: Where Ridiculous Super Bowl Catches Are Born
by CriticalFanatic

As countless commercials have accurately portrayed, today is when team's build championships. Yesterday, was when teams (Tennessee) lose them.

David Tyree was a 6th round pick for the New York Giants in the 2003 Draft. We all know the Tom Brady story, etc.

Detroit got things started today in Round 3 by selected Kevin Smith of Central Florida. All he did was rush for more yards than anyone the last two seasons. Could be a steal ... but then again, it is the Lions.

Feel free to chat up Day 2 right here.

I don't know if the Bears have drafted the best possible player, but they've at least addressed their biggest needs. That hasn't been a sure bet lately.

WR Earl Bennett of Vandy early in Round 3 ... sure, I'll take it. He's already the best WR on the team.

Patriots take a QB in the third round ... let the QB controversy begin. Or not.

Still though, interesting pick to go with Kevin O'Connell from SDSU.

Mario Manningham goes to the G-Men. I'm sure he won't get into any trouble in New York.

I commented for two reasons: 1) work is boring and 2) I felt bad for you because you had been talking to yourself.

49ers took a corner, I think safety is much more pressing, but ok.

Colts took a good tackling linebacker, I like it.

And as usual, ESPN only talks about QB's and running backs.  Mute.

Reggie Smith played safety at OU and was probably a better safety than corner. Might be too small to play safety in the NFL.

Bears draft a DT who's been arrested and injured a few times. Didn't they just release a DT who fit that role?

I think Justin King is a Day 2 guy that could end up a pro bowler. Nice work, StL.

Eh, they've been covering all positions equally.

They might move Walt Harris to safety.  Next pick by them was a center, I suppose the more line help the better.

Not from what I've watched, they've brushed by everyone and really went in to depth with the "Fantasy Football" positions.  Granted, I stopped watching after about 20 minutes, so maybe I hit a bad stretch.

Bears continue to keep trading down. Twice now in the 4th round, stockpiling on 7th round picks. Apparently they aren't going to be satisfied until they get every 7th round pick and Mr. Irrelevant.

The best name of the draft so far goes to Reggie Corner, cornerback from Akron.
