NFL Training Camp News: Warrick Dunn Will Miss Preseason, Priest Holmes Returns
by CriticalFanatic

Now that several teams have reported and donned full pads, it's time for some daily updates on the news stories that aren't big enough for their own posts ...

More awful news for Atlanta. The other productive member of the offense will be missing the entire preseason. Warrick Dunn is out at least 6 weeks after having surgery to repair a herniated disk. I suspect it will be a much longer absence. A bad back and football go together as well as Lindsay Lohan and alcohol. That sound you hear is the acceleration of Jerious Norwood up fantasy draft boards.

Hello, Priest Holmes. Indeed the Priest is back, apparently reporting to Kansas City Chiefs camp this weekend. Nothing completely official, and I wouldn't get overexcited Chief fans. He hasn't played a down of football in well over a year.

Chicago Bears are close to a deal with Lance Briggs. Thank you. I respect the Bears conservative ways, but seeing the contracts of Dwight Freeney, Polamalu and Cory Redding, Jerry Angelo has no choice but to agree to more money for Urlacher's sidekick. If they can get this done, my confidence in the Bears remaining atop the NFC soars.

More quaterbacks are signed not named Quinn: Kolb agreed to a 4-year deal, and the Dolphins signed Beck who has been more than impressive thus far. Let's go Brady, get in by the time camp starts.

Discuss.

More bad news for the Falcons...this is going to be a heck of a season.

I don't see Priest playing this year, but him being there certainly helps the Chiefs in trying to hold money for LJ.  They can now use the "Fine, holdout, we've got Priest Holmes" card.

The Bears NEED to sign Briggs without a doubt.

If LJ continues to hold out, you better believe you are going to see Holmes.

Jerius Norwood I think will have a huge season, If Johnson holds out yes look out for Holmes but another guy to keep your eye on is rookie running back Kolby Smith.
