Roger Clemens Will Make More Tonight Than 15 Kansas City Royals All Season
7/23/07
Guess who I'm rooting for? I realize this isn't entirely shocking but it needs to be pointed out as Roger Clemens takes the mound tonight in Kansas City.
He’ll clear about $18 million this season, which makes all this is-Gil-Meche-worth-$11 million talk seem pretty silly, huh? Assuming Clemens starts 21 games, that’s $857,000 per. Based on his current pace, he’s apparently worth $207,758 per strikeout, $137,120 per inning and $8,745 per pitch.Should Alex Gordon strikeout facing the Rocket, and he likely will, at least he can take comfort in knowing that at bat was the equivalent of his entire 2007 salary.
The Yankees have made a small charge since Roger's return to the pinstripes, however at 2-4 (3.88) I'm not sure you can attribute much of that success to Clemens. Go Royals.
