Stephen Curry and Davidson College Stun the Georgetown Hoyas with a Sweet 74-70 Upset
by CriticalFanatic

There's only going to be two 2-seeds represented in the Sweet 16.

West Virginia took care of Duke Saturday, and now tiny Davidson has sent the Big Hoyas home.

You wouldn't have expected the Wildcats to have much of a chance with Stephen Curry cold in the first half - missed first 10 of 12, but Roy Hibbert hardly had any influence on the game, constantly burdened by foul trouble. Unfortunately for Georgetown, Curry caught fire in the 2nd half and no one else stepped up in the center's absence.

Curry scored 25 of his 30 points in the second, eerily similar to his round one performance, carrying Davidson to the lead late with several stunning moves and three-pointers. Even those who picked the Hoyas far had to marvel as this kid.

Up next: Wisconsin. We've definitely got at least one Cinderella in this tournament, if not two.

Davidson 74, Georgetown 70

Curry = God, at this point.

Dude has been amazing for Davidson.

Being my chances at the Wii are pretty much over, I'll enjoy rooting on this kid along with the other Cinderella's.

Ok since I know nothing about basketball, I have to comment on the pic. Doesn't he look like he belongs on a hilltop with Julie Andrews in this?

I said yesterday that if he repeated his performance from yesterday against Georgetown today then I would be impressed and ohh am I impressed. It's not just Curry that makes Davidson so good too. Doesn't Richards lead the NCAA in assists and Lovedale plays much bigger than he is. They have shown that they compete against the best with their OOC schedule and now they are taking the best down round by round.

*starts praying that Michael Flowers has a great game next week*

On a side note, I'm probably forgetting a really obvious answer, but was any team more disappointing than Georgetown this year?  Good record, but they just weren't that good.  Indiana might give them a run for that title I suppose.

Indiana had an excuse.  G-town ran out of excuses.  They were huge, and big teams usually do well in the tourney when it comes down to it.  Big East took a little stumble after it's 7-1 start.

Indeed, he broke the first rule of Bracket Club. You never talk about Bracket Club.
