Still Waiting for the New Orleans Saints To Show Up for NFL Season; Embarrassed 31-14 by Buccaneers
by CriticalFanatic
9/16/07

Who Dat, Who Dat, Who Dat in the Saints jerseys? It's not the guys I expected.

Worst.Prediction.Ever.

What was up with the NFL today? Bengals get run over, Texans drop 34 straight points, Broncos need overtime to hold off the Raiders, and Lions have the ball bounce their way for a change.

We know the Saints defense is bad, or at least their secondary, but what's up with the offense? It was 28-0 with :49 to go in the third quarter before New Orleans scored their first offensive touchdown of the season. You can chalk that up to the Bucs defense losing interest. So how does a team lose all offensive explosiveness during an offseason? This guy thinks they read and watched one too many preseason previews.

Maybe it's because I picked Drew Brees and the Saints to give NFL offensive records a run for their money, but I still believe this team rights the proverbial ship.

I'll tell you exactly what's up with the Saints offense - and please, Saints fans...don't stone me. I have Brees, Colston, and Bush in my fantasy leagues (not all in one, just scattered...)

For some reason I think that is missing a part.

No, that's all. I have them all; one of each in leagues, or 2 in one league etc. - and because I have them, they're not going to perform up to the standard they did last year...it's always the way it goes for me in fantasy football

Oh I think I have Deuce McAllister in one of my leagues too. Go figure.

I was actually referring to the part about the offensive problems.  Although you must be screwed with all of those Saints players.

0-3 teams generally finish the season 6-10. Saints better beat the Panthers or beat the numbers.

ahh I gotcha. I didn't catch that game, so I can't share any "intelligent" thoughts on it. However, from the sounds of it, the offense didn't look any better than they did against the Colts; and the defense looked even worse, considering....well...it was the Colts last week as opposed to a mediocre offense.

As far as FF, fortunately I don't think I'm doing too poorly, thanks to having them spread out in different leagues; except maybe for one.

Thats why you will see Brooks and Barber and who knows, maybe even Kiffin in Canton.....they refuse to let this defense slip into mediocrity
