A Collection Of Manny Being Manny Moments

Manny Ramirez Will Always Be Awesome

by 100%InjuryRate 100%InjuryRate | >7 days ago1 Comment Comment »

With all the Manny hysteria of late, ESPN's Baseball Tonight decided to track down as many "Manny Being Manny" moments as they could. Apparently they compiled 28 minutes of such craziness, but had to chop it down to about 3 minutes.

Personally, I'd like to see the full 28 minutes. But that said, this definitely do.

I think my favorite thing is Ramirez's first career hit. It was a ground rule double that never even came close to going out of the park. Manny naturally thought he'd hit a home run and continued past 2nd. Right there, you knew we had a special player.

Anyway, as much fun as people make of Ramirez, he probably has the best mind set ever for a baseball player. It's clear he never let's anything get to him ever.

Manny is one of my favorite ball players and professional athletes, the absolute opposite of the usual up-tight, self-important, self-absorbed asshhole. He is definitely a charter member of the Alfred E. Newman "What, me worry" club. And you know what, that happy-go-lucky, self-cleansing mind is probably one of the things that has made him such an incredibly good hitter. It's hard to imagine Manny worrying about or concentrating on anything other than the next pitch when he is up at the plate.
