Charles Barkley Talks Gambling with Ernie Johnson
Sir Charles Talks About His Turrible, Turrible Illness and His Spec Tackler Friends
|
by |
Last night before the soul sucking game seven between New Orleans and San Antonio, Charles Barkley had a 1-on-1 with Ernie Johnson to discuss his gambling issues.
Sir Gambling Debt admitted he has a problem and said he won't be betting anymore and that he's paid his debt in full.
I give him credit for being open and honest about his issue and that just because he has money to lose, that shouldn't be an excuse for him.
However, while Charles begins by saying he'll never gamble again he slowly backtracks to explain "it's not like he's an alcoholic and carrying around a bottle everyday," and that he might lose a few more bets here and there. Then it becomes a "I won't gamble for at least a year or two," and finally, "I won't gamble ever again."
Which is it?
Odds are on Big Chuck losing this bet, but we of course wish him well. Addiction is a turrible, turrible disease.
