It took David Beckham 6 career MLS games to record his first goal. Beckham took the perfect pass from Landon Donovan and put his first shot of the season into the back of the net beating Earthquake goaltender Joe Cannon. Beckham later added an assist while leading the Galaxy to a 2-0 win over San Jose.

He also made approximately eleventy-billion dollars for playing in this game. Seriously, it's in his contract.

I watched the match. It's going to be a long season for the Earthquakes if they looked this bad against one of the worst teams in MLS. They're an expansion team though, so it's to be expected. I think the more that Beckham and Donovan play together though, the more dangerous they will be. The Galaxy defense still sucks, so expect a lot of 4-3 games.
