Fiesta Bowl: West Virginia Runs Over Oklahoma 48-28
by CriticalFanatic

Q: West Virginia rushing yards or times Oklahoma's band played Boomer Sooner.

A
: 'Eers by just an edge.

If Boomer Sooner was played throughout my nightmares, then I'm guessing the Oklahoma defense was still trying to catch Pat White and Noel Devine throughout theirs. It was so bad, fullback/part-time beer truck Owen Schmitt ran for a 57-yard touchdown run. In total, West Virginia rushed for 349 yards on one of the nation's stingiest rush defenses.

Was I ever wrong predicting this Fiesta Bowl, about as wrong as the last time Oklahoma stepped onto this field.

I think the question must be asked now, is had Pat White stayed healthy or at least played through the pain during the Pittsburgh game could WVU have won the national championship? Oklahoma's defense isn't all that far behind LSU and Ohio State and they didn't stand a chance at stopping that offense.

Fun game to watch despite another large margin of victory. You think, just maybe, that West Virginia's athletic office is now fielding all kinds of calls from coaches who'd like the chance to coach Noel Devine and Pat White next year? I could watch that kid run all night.

Final question: Out of USC, Georgia and West Virginia, who will get your vote as the second best team in the country?

Mountaineers 48, Sooners 28

Who's to say those teams don't deserve first place votes?  This BCS is such a joke that even after the bowl games are being played we still have no clue who's the best.

Boomer Sooner isn't that bad . I was at the game and I gotta give major props to West Virginia for showing up and beating us down. They have great fans and I look forward to seeing them again on South Beach next Jan. 5th.
