Gus Johnson Factor: Michigan State, Pittsburgh, Notre Dame and Washington State On Notice
by CriticalFanatic
3/17/08

I can finally fill out my brackets, now the the CBS announcing schedule has been released. Gus Johnson will be calling the Thursday/Saturday games in Denver. From my persepective, I'm both ecstatic and incredibly concerned on multiple levels.

My chief concern is that Michigan State is now subject to a Gus Johnson upset. If the 5-12 matchup wasn't enough, you add in Gus and there's little chance that game will be decided by more than 3 points. Considering that's a 12:20 game, I'm in for a very, very long day.

This pairing does however reinforce my upset pick of Winthrop over Washington State.

The other big concern (brought up by astute fan Boski93) is the altitude. Do you think Gus Johnson would have survived this UCLA-Gonzaga game from a couple years ago if it were in Denver? I don't.

His head is totally going to explode this year.
