Kobe Bryant Explains Jumping Over A Car Stunt, Sort Of
by CriticalFanatic
4/11/08

Despite TNT's resident idiots (lovable idiots, that is), Charles and Kenny, believing Kobe Bryant really leaped an Aston Martin ... he definitely did not.

John Ireland of KCAL-TV Los Angeles asked Kobe about the stunt last night. Kobe's response:

"Hollywood, baby."

"Hollywood. What do expect our here? If Rambo can take on a whole army, I can jump over an Aston Martin."

If you really believe Kobe jumped a car, I've got this business pyramid concept to run by you real quick.

By the way, while you're watching Kobe's explanation stick around for the cutting edge CBS2 report on an emu who just wants to be a dad. That's good stuff.

The fact that this is getting so much play is kind of embarassing.  Its kind of a cool ad, but there's no way any NBA player would risk his career for an ad, especially Kobe.

There's no shadow on the car.  John Anderson is giddy over it on SportsCenter, I'm kicking him out of my top 5 favorite anchors.

Well... I suspected that he didn't jump over the car, and I don't think it's a really big secret how he did so anyway.  If you look close, Kobe is closer to the Camera than the closest part of the car, meaning the car only drove parallel to him, not actually at him.  If you look and pause the video right as the car comes in and Kobe jumps, you can see the edge of his right foot is closer to the cam than the closest part of the car.
