Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic Run The Bases At Yankee Stadium

Greenie Beats Golic By A Fat Hair, But Does He Really Run Away The Winner?

Having finished a triathlon I think I'm allowed to point fingers and laugh at how out of shape these two ESPN heads appear to be. Actually, wait, I think you all can. This was a sad showing.

Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic, your near and dear hosts of ESPN Radio's Mike & Mike In The Morning, have been competing in a pentathlon of sorts. Ping-pong, H-O-R-S-E, and now running the bases at Yankee Stadium.

If you listen to the show at all, you might have heard them discuss how awesome their jobs are once or three hundred times this week, and how privileged they are to be at Yankee Stadium this week.

What they are not privileged to have right now are speedy legs and good lungs. Mike Greenberg covered the ground in 19.29 seconds. Not terrible, but for a guy that fancies himself a runner, I thought he might do a little better and at the very least beat Gollic, who weighs at least 100 pounds more, by a larger margin.

Golic comes in a remarkable .04 seconds behind his co-host. Not bad for the big man, but Prince Fielder was unimpressed. We didn't listen to the show this morning, but I think it's safe to say they beat this event to death.

I don't know what it is about these two guys, but I LOVE them!  Think their show is great... but then again I like Rome also - go figure!  I guess I have no sense or taste at all!

I think we also need to take into account Golic is a retired NFL lineman and probably has had god knows how many knee surgeries.  The fact he could even get around the bases at all is pretty impressive.

I can't stand Mike Greenberg.  I wonder if he'd have this radio gig as long if his first name was Phil.  The show is so much better when Greenie is on vacation and Eric Kuselias or one of the other fill-in guys are in his seat.  Rome's gotten better in the last ten years or so, but the SoCal hipster act gets a little old.
