Yes, last night's Pens/Wings game was super exciting. But it was also super painful, at least for Ryan Malone. Malone took a puck straight to the cheek and went down in a heap, as you can see in the video above.
But because he's a hockey player, and made of indestructible high grade steel alloy, he eventually came back into the game and actually played well.
Sergei Gonchar also roughed himself up when he crashed into the boards at full speed. He of course returned as well.
I assume the Pens will use both Malone and Gonchar's grit and determination to push the team towards trying to come back and win this series, but personally, I'm more interested in testing the limits of hockey player indestructibility. I'm fully convinced I could drop a piano on guys like Malone and they'd be back playing again by the second period.
