It's Not A Playoff Series Until The Spurs Get Favorable Flop Calls
>7 days ago
Something has been missing this postseason. It's been wildly entertaining, but I've missed that Spurs game at home where they get every call (some, rightfully) and it raised your San Antonio hate level to red. This happened last night, particularly during the 3rd quarter.
In Game 5, New Orleans won the game with a big offensive run, fueled by great defense and some highlight dunks to get the crowd on their feet. Last night, the Spurs took over the game with a series of flops that NBA officials always buy at home.
This video was posted below, but wanted to get my two cents in.
The first call on Bowen is an embarrassment to NBA officials. It's not even borderline that he's underneath the hoop and in the circle. It's an obvious block.
Second call on Bowen is an embarrassment to him. Tough guy Bruce turns into a total flake and Chris Paul into the incredible hulk.
The third on Duncan is debatable. Didn't hate the call, but I think he was late and helped himself tremendously with a classic overacted Spurs flop. This was just three of what seemed like a dozen calls all in about two minutes on New Orleans. Chris Paul picked up No. 3 and 4. David West picked up a couple. Bam! Spurs up 15. Game over.
It's disgusting, but this is what basketball has become. Not to mention Cheap Shot Bob coming into the game late to take out David West. We'll have more on that later.
For now, we'll look forward to what should be a very dramatic Game 7 on the Hornets home court.
