Video: Adrian Peterson Sets the NFL Single Game Rushing Record Running Over the Chargers for 296 Yards

[Video taken down by the NFL who choses not to share it's product. Just take our word for it that Adrian Peterson is really, frickin' good.]

Finally there's some video up they we can marvel at all evening. I plan to. There aren't enough superlatives in the book to describe Adrian Peterson's afternoon and rookie season thus far. I'm not sure what's was more stunning this afternoon, that AD had 296 yards rushing or that he had 256 more than LaDainian Tomlinson.

There's not one run above that doesn't make your jaw drop. 8 games into his NFL career he holds the all time NFL single game rushing record. Then consider Peterson is on pace (1,036) to destroy Eric Dickerson's rookie season record for yards (1,808) and could give his all-time record of 2,105 a run.

What's interesting to note is that while many have cautioned the Vikings to not overwork Adrian, Peterson looked stronger as the game went on and picked up most of his yards after his 20th carry.

How many yards do you think Peterson will end up with? Can he break 2,000?

I don't think he gets 2000...but my god he's absurd.  He stays healthy, I'd say around 1,700 yards, which is still absurd for anyone, especially a rookie.

This kid is just straight up nasty.  I am beating my head against a brick wall for passing him up on my fantasy football team (I picked up LT instead).

Anyone that has followed the Sooners for the last 3 seasons knows how tough it is to tackle this guy.  He may be the best running back to ever have come out of Oklahoma, and that is saying a lot.  If he can stay healthy, and that is a huge if, he will certainly break the rookie record of 1,808 yards in a season.  I don't know about the all time record, but it is certainly within reach, assuming he stays healthy.  His biggest problem this season has been consistency.  He has had 2 200+ yard games, but has also had 2 sub-100 yard games.  A little more consistency and he would definiately break the record.

What's really ridiculous is that he made a good AFC defense look foolish all on his own, AND the Vikings have ZERO passing game, so they're stacking the box (at least they SHOULD be).

Makes me wonder who's going to stop him.
