Yes, We're Rocking Soccer Highlights
6/10/08
Although you don't see soccer in these parts very often, it's not for a lack of interest. Fortunately, Euro 2008 comes at a great time with very little else going on in the sports landscape and we'll plan to give you a daily highlight each day through the remainder of the event.
Coming off their World Cup title I certainly didn't expect what happened on Monday, a 3-0 beating from Holland. The Azzuzi just missed on many strikes and from my perspective seemed a couple steps slow all afternoon.
It was the worse loss ever for Italy at Euro, they'd never given up 3 goals before, which I'm sure is going over well in the homeland this morning. This is what I like about soccer - coach Roberto Donadoni likely has lost his job as a result of this embarrassing defeat. Can you imagine if this same cut-throat mentality was employed in the NFL?
Far and away the best goal of the day, this assist off the head of Dirk Kuyt to Wesley Sneijder who snuck one in just around the right post off the bounce. Sublime, I believe they say.

React to the best sports news from around the Web.
