Will Kevin Garnett Get the David Stern Superstar Treatment? [Hawks-Celtics Fight]

You don't need to answer that, it's clearly rhetorical. Of course he will.

It was a big surprise that the Atlanta Hawks won Monday night. However, it was not a surprise that the Hawks were going to step up, push around Boston a little and test their mettle.

Zaza Pachulia played his part by getting under Kevin Garnett's skin by holding him down on a rebound attempt. KG, clearly frustrated with his team's play, exacerbated the event by shoving Pachulia again with his elbow. Both players deserved technicals, Zaza bordered on a double T by confronting Garnett again and essentially head-butting him.

This isn't where I believe Garnett will receive star treatment. The video above doesn't really provide a great angle, but official Eddie Rush tried to pull KG away from the fracas and in doing so, Garnett shoved him aside twice, one of those instances resulted in elbowing Rush aggressively.

PF # 5 would receive a suspension from David Stern's office. It's happened before.
All-Star Kevin Garnett for the Boston Celtics will not.

Stern's an idiot. He submarined the Suns last year while saying "We have to follow the rules" then he lets crap like this slide. It's like CF said. The NBA: Where Indiscriminate Discipline Happens.

Stern: what an ass. Although why should I be surprised? He greased the skids to get the Sonics out of Seattle. Guy is a sleazebag.

Look Jason Kidd is not getting a suspension after his aborted attempt to dribble Pargo's head, so why should Garrnett get a game for shoving a ref. David Stern please be thankful that Gary Bettman still is commish of the NHL or you would be the worst out of the three commissioners. Baseball does not have a commissioner, they have Mr. Magoo eerrrrr Bud Selig "running the show".

What KG did last night was far worse than what Amare (who should be a superstar but for whatever reason hasn't quite become that) and Diaw did, so by that standard he should be suspended.  But, as Boski pointed out, JKidd could've ended Pargo's career and he got nothing. 

Anyone else been less than impressed by KG this series?  The stupid intensity when blowing Atlanta out, not that great defense, and then bitching out last night to Zaza but willingly taking on Eddie Rush just doesn't make one look good.

They might as well suspend him for the next game in Boston, because the Celtics aren't going to lose that one anyway.

Just like everyone, including myself said they weren't going to lose in Atlanta either and this team got embarassed there. They just aren't that good.

Solid attempt and underselling what a monumental flop this is.  If you realized they were mediocre before the playoffs started, props, but they should still win the series.  Most playoff teams, even the Hawks, have the ability to play above themselves in front of a raucous home crowd.
