Vote756.com: Marc Ecko Wants Fans to Decide Fate of Barry Bonds' Record HR Ball
by CriticalFanatic
9/17/07

Marc Ecko, a fashion designer from New York and the new owner of Bonds' 756th HR ball, would like to "democratize the ball" by letting fans decide its fate.

Ecko was on the Today Show this morning, quite proud of himself I might add, and shared his vision with Matt Lauer.
“I wanted the ball to democratize the ball and to give the ball to the people, to give the ball to America,”
So you can head over to Vote756.com and vote for one of three options: 1) Bestow It (Cooperstown), 2) Brand It (asterisk) or 3) Banish It ("moon shot into space").

While I respect his idea to let fans decide, watching his appearance this morning with Matt Lauer (video), Marc Ecko came across as one who was more interested in selling his name.

Lets see - Sell to the highest bidder and give the people limited choices.  This guy has democracy nailed.

And not for nothing, this douche could have made it fun for us all.  On top of his options why not...

4.  Blight it (Make the ball look like a Picasso with skid marks)

5.  Bastardize it (Gift it to Travis Henry's children)

6.  Bury it (Shove it down Skip Bayless's throat)

My favorite take on this was The Onion's: "People vote: Mark Ecko should shove Barry Bond's HR ball up his @$$" www.sportivoblog.com
