NFL Sunday Injury Report: Brian Westbrook, Aaron Rodgers, Carson Palmer All Likely To Start
Big Injuries, Big Questions and Big Risks Heading Into Week 5
10/5/08

The significant fantasy football injuries continue to mount unlike any previous season I can remember.

Brian Westbrook, Aaron Rodgers and Carson Palmer are the biggest questions heading into Week 5, and all are likely to start, but carry significant risks for fantasy owners. Will they finish?

Here's the Sunday morning injury report. Check back at games approach for changes, as always.

Brian Westbrook
is listed as probable after having a good practice on Friday. I'd say he's a full go and a must start. Knowing Westbrook, he's not going to go half-ass, he'll be a complete part of the offense again in a must win game for the Eagles.

Carson Palmer
also went through a complete practice on Friday and while he remains questionable, he's determined to start. As has been the case all year, I'd still keep him benched. His elbow should limit how many passes will be called and there's no sure bet he'll even finish the game.

Aaron Rodgers
went from maybe out all year to might play today in one week's span. In fact, Rodgers will now start today.

Willis McGahee is likely to play, but he's suffering from a bruised rib which is precisely the kind of injury you don't want to have when facing the Tennessee Titans. I don't think I'd start Willis, so long as I had a body to replace him. Le'Ron McClain is a much better start.

Chicago Bears Defense would seem like a great start at Detroit, but you might consider some other options if available. Corners Nathan Vasher and Charles Tillman are both banged up and questionable today. DT Tommie Harris has been suspended. This is precisely the kind of seemingly easy win that the Bears could very well lose. For fantasy purposes, don't be surprised to see the Lions throw for 300+ and put up a fair amount of points to limit yours.

Deion Branch and Bobby Engram are go's for Seattle vs New York. If you're low on depth, I'd start Branch.
