Brewers Teetering On The Edge, Trying To Avoid Joining The Cubs
by Pat
10/5/08

In Game 4 of the ALDS, Joe Blanton will go for the Phillies against Jeff Suppan for the Brewers. The Phillies lead the series 2-1, and can move on to the NLCS against the Dodgers with a win today.

Blanton (9-12, 4.69) has been a pleasant surprise for the Phillies after coming over from the A's already with 12 losses. He went 4-0 with the Phils and has been a solid starter for them.

The Brewers are resting their chances on the shoulders of Jeff Suppan (10-10, 4.96), who pitches slightly better at home than away, which is somewhat encouraging.

The Phillies have already scored a run in the first on a Jimmy Rollins solo HR, but I think that the Brewers will come through and win this one to force a game 5.

Discuss the game here, or on the game page, where 63% of FanIQ picked the Phillies.

The Brewers have an incredible ability to make bad pitchers look good.  There's no reason why we can't light up Joe Blanton other than stupidity and impatience at the plate.
