Tony Romo Has Broken Finger, Will Miss Four Weeks

It's Officially Panic Time In Dallas

The circus in Dallas is about to get even crazier. According to an ESPN reporter not named Chris Mortensen - so we know it's true - Tony Romo has a broken pinkie on his throwing hand and is going to miss the next four weeks. Now, your immediate thought is probably that Jessica did it while trying to jam an engagement ring on his finger, but no, you'd be incorrect. He apparently injured it against Arizona on Sunday.
Your next thought is probably who's Romo's backup? That would be the pretty reliable Brad Johnson, although Johnson is also 73 years old.
And lastly, you probably want to know what their upcoming schedule is. It's the Rams, Bucs, and Giants followed by a bye week. So Romo might only miss 3 games.
Now, while the Redskins inexplicable loss to the Rams yesterday certainly helps the Cowboys, it's still officially panic time in Dallas. This team is the most talented team on paper in the NFL, even though they haven't played like it, and they were expected to win the Super Bowl. Now, there's a real danger that they might not even make the playoffs.
I think in all likelihood, they'll beat the Rams, but the Bucs I'm not so sure about, and the Giants, forget it, they're losing that one. It's my belief that the Cowboys right now are destined for the wild card, which could hurt them significantly when they're forced to go on the road in the playoffs.
But hey, even the wild card isn't guaranteed. Considering the fact that Pacman is reportedly going to get disciplined this week, TO could very well go insane while Romo's gone, and Wade Phillips increasingly looks more and more impotent, lord only knows what's going to happen. Either way, it'll be fun to watch.
