The Best Hitter & Pitcher Right Now
The background for this question is this:
If you were the GM of your favorite MLB team for 1 year, what 1 hitter and what 1 starting pitcher would you build your roster around?  Keep in mind that you have just 1 year to win it all, you are not building a dynasty right now, you are simply picking the best hitter and best pitcher for the 2009 season.  Age shouldn't play into your choice since you only have these guys for one year.

+1 thumbs upI'm biased cuz I'm a Giants fan on both my picks.  I'm scared of Manny on the Dodgers and pretty much think Lincecum is the best Giants pitcher in my lifetime.

Good for you. The only difference is I claimed Lincecum would win the Cy Young about a year ago.
