Cavs welcome Hawks to Cleveland |
(Sports Network) - The improving Atlanta Hawks will face a stern test Saturday when they travel to Cleveland to take on the Cavaliers and LeBron James.
Joe Johnson scored 30 points and doled out eight assists to lead the Hawks in an 88-83 victory over Charlotte in Atlanta on Friday.
Marvin Williams chipped in 22 points and 10 rebounds for the Hawks, who have won two straight on the heels of a four-game skid.
Mike Bibby had 14 points and six helpers, and Maurice Evans had 10 points and 10 boards.
The Cavs, who are a perfect 6-0 in Cleveland this season, lost for the first time in nine games Wednesday when Detroit's Allen Iverson scored 23 points, had four steals and doled out four assists to lead the Pistons in a 96-89 comeback win over Cleveland.
James had 25 points, six assists, six boards and four steals for the Cavaliers.
Mo Williams also had 25 points, while Zydrunas Ilgauskas scored 13 and Anderson Varejao ended with 11 boards.
On the injury front, Cavs guard Wally Szczerbiak is questionable for the game for personal reasons while the Hawks continue to toil without star forward Josh Smith, who is recovering from a high left ankle sprain.
Cleveland has won five of its past six meetings with Atlanta.
