Suns attempt to continue dominance vs. Blazers

(Sports Network) - The Phoenix Suns will try and get back on the winning track when they welcome the Portland Trail Blazers to US Airways Center on Saturday.

The Suns have dominated the Blazers in recent years, winning 10 straight in the series and 14 of the last 15 meetings. The last time Portland got the best of Phoenix was on March 12, 2006 at the Rose Garden.

The last time the Blazers won in Phoenix was February 4, 2004.

The Suns dropped their second straight game on Sunday when Los Angeles' Kobe Bryant scored 24 points and Lamar Odom filled the stat sheet with 13 points and nine rebounds off the bench, as the red-hot Lakers rolled past Phoenix, 105-92.

Amare Stoudemire scored a team-high 21 points to go along with eight rebounds, while Shaquille O'Neal netted 15 points and grabbed nine rebounds in defeat.

Steve Nash dished out 10 assists to go along with eight points, and Grant Hill scored 11 off the bench for the Suns.

In team news for Phoenix, guard Leandro Barbosa, who had returned to his native Brazil after his mother passed, is questionable for the game while forward Matt Barnes is probable with back spasms.

Meanwhile, the Blazers earned an easy 117-96 win over the Kings in Sacramento Friday when Steve Blake netted a game-high 20 points with five assists.

LaMarcus Aldridge added 19 points with six rebounds for the Trail Blazers, who have won three of four.

Brandon Roy chipped in with 16 points while Travis Outlaw had 15 and Rudy Fernandez 14 points off the bench.
